Just interviewed Dr. Yamma Brown, James Brown’s daughter @daughterofsoul, about her book “Cold Sweet.” Such a pleasure. She was so sweet and positive and enlightening in sharing her thoughts on domestic violence, from witnessing it as a child to living and making her way through it in her own relationship. "Hardly home but always reppin’" My mom is always slipping up and telling people that we’re from New York. 😒 Nah we just live there. I’ve always been proud to come from Indianapolis but never more so than this past week where I witnessed people who I hadn’t seen or spoken to in years—like since middle or high school— come together in times of tragedy. It was inspiring, beautiful beyond words, and reminded me why I’m so proud to call Indianapolis home. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ View Larger
